To the demons upstairs

Monsters becoming humans, is that right?
I wonder if I’m starting to lose sight.
I have only one focus tonight.
What really goes bump in the night?

I do not, will not count Twilight,
for monsters don’t sparkle in daylight.
Maybe Dracula will set things right.
What really goes bump in the night?

Humans becoming monsters—what a fright!
To a zombie, I’d lose. It’s not much of a fight.
Now, a mermaid a monster? What of a sprite?
What really goes bump in the night?

Sharp teeth with which to bite.
Who will save me? A knight?
Really? Will he have enough might?
What really goes bump in the night?

I know what goes bump in the night:
Those demon feet upstairs, out of sight.
Only I can save myself in this fight.
Will you dare go bump in the night?
