i heard a rumour,
don’t mean nothing
somebody lied
little lies
right from the start
& you’re the last one to know
one promise too late,
that’s just the way it is
at this moment
the moon is still over her shoulder
why does it have to be?
don’t get me wrong,
i know where i’m going
& someday,
when smokey sings,
i’ll have a change of heart

“When Smokey Sings” is a tribute song by ABC to Smokey Robinson, yep. I don’t know if you have heard it before, but it’s about how his music always seems to capture the emotions in the moment.
